if you are interested in innovations and startups and/or you are interested in medicine and healthcare we highly recommend you the 4th Open MedTech Innovation Day (OMID) on January 18th from 11.30-16.30 o´clock.
If you want to bring a needs-driven medical innovation idea into life, but are not able to join this workshop,
you can participate in an idea competition which we briefly introduce in the last part of this email.
During the half-day workshop “Open MedTech Innovation Day” you will
1. learn about innovation processes (by doing it)
2. learn about business modelling
3. work in interdisciplinary teams
4. have a lot of fun
The workshop language is English.
Participation is free of charge.
The OMID will take place in the University Hospital Tübingen, the exact location will be communicated after registration.
Registration is open till January, 16th:
Here you can see some impressions
from the previous OMIDs:
1. What is the OMID?
The OMID is a hands-on workshop where master, bachelor and PhD students work together with medical doctors and Post-Docs,to identify challenges in the healthcare system and search in interdisciplinary teams for solutions.
2. What can you expect from the OMID?
It is a workshop with a lot of teamwork, outcomes and movement. You will see that it is possible to develop a business model from the scratch in less than one day. Some of our former participants have their own startup-projects now! The best ideas generated during the OMID will have the chance to present their ideas to the Medical Innovations Foundation (www.mi-foundation.org) and be recommended for a participation
in the MedTech Startup School 2018 (www.startupschool-tuebingen.com) and the incubation program by the Medical Innovations Incubator GmbH (www.mi-incubator.com).
3. What if you can´t join the OMID, (and are a medical professional with a medicine related education and practical experience) but want to realize a medical innovation idea?
In this case the Medical Innovations Foundation has a competition for ideas for medical innovations:
You can apply there with your idea till January, 23rd 2018. If you will be selected to present your idea in front of the scientific board of the foundation (Prof. Hämmerle, Prof. Grathwohl, Prof. Rodemann, Prof. Rosenstiel, Prof. Zrenner), your idea will get the chance to be selected for a further development during the MedTech Startup School and the Medical Innovations Incubator´s incubation program.
