Course content / topics

The Neurocolloquium is a long standing, fortnightly seminar series organized and financed by the Tübingen neuroscience community, including the Ctr for Integrative Neurosci, the Hertie Inst for Clinical Brain Res, the Bernstein Ctr for Comput Neurosci, the Max Planck Institute for Biol Cybernetics, and the Graduate Training Ctr. The seminar presents internationally renowned scientists from various fields of neuroscience. The talks mostly have a review-like character providing an overview of state-of-the-art neuroscience topics, from genes to behavior and new methodologies.

Learning targets  Regular attendance of the NeuroColloquium will introduce students to a wide range of neuroscience research and, thus, make them "look beyond their own noses".  Of the 8 speakers visiting per term, 2 speakers will be proposed, invited and hosted by master and doctoral students of the GTC.  By doing so, students will get the opportunity to choose speakers of their interest and meet with them before and after the talk.
