PhD position (f/m/d) in enteric neuroscience
at the Institute of Clinical Anatomy & Cell Analysis
Our research team at the Institute of Clinical Anatomy & Cell Analysis is looking for a motivated young neuroscientist, cell- or molecular biologist to join our quest to unravel the mysteries of neurogenesis in the gut!
The project will be centred around neural stem- and progenitor cells in the postnatal enteric nervous system (ENS) and how this cell pool is regulated in health and disease.
As part of a DFG-founded research project, your work also includes modelling changes of the ENS in gastroschisis in murine and avian in-ovo-approaches. Additionally, we
analyse human patient material.
Methodologically, you will learn to use primary cultures of human, murine, and chicken ENS cells, histological analysis (from classical histology to tissue clearing), molecular and cell biological tools (ranging from qPCR to spatial transcriptomics, from western
blot to shut-gun proteomics, proliferation assays, cellular senescence and cell death analyses).
