  • Basic concepts of gene therapy for brain disorders (vector engineering, gene replacement/augmentation, gene correction, gene editing, gene regulation and silencing, cell type specificity)
  • Recent advances in genome editing (ZFNs, TALENs, CRISPRs)
  • Genome editing in basic neuroscience: how tailored gene editing may unravel how the brain works
  • Bench to Bedside: therapeutic applications of genetic modification for neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Huntington disease, spinal muscular atrophy, Parkinson's disease, adrenoleukodystrophy...)
  • Genome editing for precision medicine
  • Epigenetic regulation of DNA and its role in gene expression levels (Therapeutic approaches based on modulation of epigenetic changes)
  • Prospects, challenges and ethical considerations
