Our research group develops in vitro models based on human induced pluripotent stem cells (human
iPSCs) to investigate developmental and disease mechanisms. We are developing a novel hypothalamic organoid platform to reveal the hypothalamic–pancreatic axis and to understand how the brain regulates metabolism.

Your tasks
The primary objective of this project is to develop an in vitro human hypothalamic organoid model
and implement it for investigating the hypothalamus-to-pancreas crosstalk under physiological and
disease conditions. Throughout the project, the candidate will gain expertise in:
- human iPSC culture and 3D organoid differentiation
- multi-organoid culture, co-culture models, and assembloids
- advanced staining and imaging techniques
- high-resolution imaging and quantitative analysis
- RNA-based analysis methods
Your profile
- Master’s degree in life sciences, molecular biology, or a related field
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, particularly with stem cells (experience with hiPSCs will be a great advantage), and proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and immunocytochemistry are highly desirable
- Excellent proficiency in English is essential
- Programming skills (e.g. R, Python) and familiarity with scientific software (e.g. ImageJ, Prism) are a plus
